Components

Alcohol burner, combustion chamber, simmer control, pot support, fuel bottle, stuff sack.

Material

The burner, simmer control and combustion chamber are made from 3XXX series aluminum for strength, light weight, durability, corrosion resistance and thermal efficiency.  The burner is fully sealed with high temperature industrial epoxy.  The pot support is made from 1/8" diameter cold drawn steel rod for high temperature strength.  The fuel bottle is a 4 oz NalgeneTM bottle, which holds enough alcohol for an extended weekend trip.

Weight

2-1/2 oz (minimum carry weight, excludes fuel bottle and stuff sack)

Packed Size

Burner, combustion chamber and simmer control pack to cylinder 2-1/4" dia x 4" long.  This pack is designed to carry the 4oz NalgeneTM fuel bottle inside it .  The pot support consists of two 1/8" dia x 5-3/4" long steel rods.

Operating Size

6" dia x 4" high.  Pot height = 3"

Stove Capacity

The ThermoJet MicroLite is intended as a personal stove, cooking one or two serving "simmer and serve" meals such as rice, pasta, noodles, soup, etc.  The stove is designed for pots with a diameter between 4-3/4" and 5-5/8".  This generally covers pots rated at 1 l, 1 qt, .9 l, .85 l, 750 ml, 18 oz and most other pots with a capacity between a pint and a liter.

A larger stove is available for pots with a diameter between  5-3/4" and 6-1/2".  This is generally suitable for pots with a capacity between a liter and 1-1/2 quarts.  The large capacity stove is available at no extra cost.  Simply select the large stove on the order form.

Note: These sizes are intended as guidelines.  Some cookware manufacturers publish inaccurate ratings.  For example, a 1 qt BugabooTM holds nearly 1-1/2 qt.  The 1-1/2 qt BugabooTM holds well over 2 qt.  Some pots are deeper than normal.  To be sure, measure your cooking pot's diameter one inch from the bottom of the pot.

* All ratings were taken at room temperature using room temperature water in a covered, one quart aluminum pot, barometric pressure greater than or equal to one standard atmosphere and a light, variable breeze.  Stove was turned down to a simmer once the water reached a boil.  Denatured alcohol was used as fuel.  These ratings are provided for guidelines and comparison.  Actual performance will depend on environmental conditions, pot size and material, fuel, etc.
All times are taken from the lighting of a cold stove.  There is no hidden preheat time and no additional fuel required to preheat the stove.

# The simmer control provides very even heating and virtually eliminates hot spots, allowing hotter cooking without scorching.  This results in meals cooking about 25% faster than with ordinary stoves.
